DORMS and a Life Update

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted! It's been crazy busy lately with work, school, and family. Luckily, time is flying by and my arrival date is getting closer and closer. I officially leave in less than 2 weeks! :) So basically, I just want to give you guys a life update and a little bit of info on housing and classes at Disney! Let's start with the Disney things...

Disney offers classes for the CP's! There are collegiate classes and seminar classes. Some colleges will accept collegiate classes for credit...that's something to work out with your academic advisor. These collegiate classes meet pretty frequently (I'm sorry I don't know how often) but the seminar classes only meet once a week for four weeks. I was sooooo looking forward to taking a Leadership Seminar class! How cool would that be to take a Disney Leadership Class? I was so pumped that I even left work a few minutes early the day registration opened so that I could be ready to get the class since it goes so fast.

Well...I have a little bit of advice for anyone who wants to sign up for these classes in the future. When I got the e-mail giving the information about when registration was opening, I read that I would receive a message when registration opened. That was a major rookie mistake. When the time listed on the e-mail came I started refreshing my e-mail like crazy thinking I needed an e-mail with Disney to enroll. While I was doing this, every other CP was registering...taking the class I wanted...like I said....rookie mistake. By the time 15 minutes had passed I decided to just log on to DORMS, I then learned I did not need an e-mail...I also learned that all spots for the class I wanted were gone...including the waiting list spots :( So the lesson from this....if you want to take a class...do NOT wait for an e-mail, just be logged into DORMS at the right time and be ready to click FAST! At least I know for next time.

On to something happier, a few days ago, I received my housing e-mail from DORMS! Thank goodness I was able to link with up to 5 people. My 3 amazing roommates and myself were able to all link together which means that I will most likely get to live with them! Praise God! We chose Commons as our first choice (fingers crossed) and unfortunately had to make Vista our second choice. We really didn't want Vista but it was the only other complex that offered 2 bedroom 4 people. So hopefully Commons works out but no matter what happens it's Disney and I'm happy! :) Advice for future CP's: If you want to pick your roommates, you are going to need to pick a "leader" to register first. This person will link all of your roommates by entering your ID number which you get in the housing e-mail. Once you get linked you'll get an e-mail asking you if you would like to link with the group. Once you accept the link you finish filling out registration. It's really super easy, just make sure you and all your roommates communicate.

Okay this post is getting long so I will make the life update part short and sweet...I have my last day of work this week on Thursday. It's crazy how quickly these last few months went by. I'm going to miss all my kiddos at the pre-school so much! I think there will definitely be some tears. :( Another big thing that happened this weekend was my cousin's high school graduation! I'm so proud of him. I also went on a great trip to California and got to spend a lot of time on the beach...my second favorite place (Disney being the first). In about a week, my family is throwing me an early birthday party! I'm so excited to spend some time with all of them before I leave. Leaving them is going to be really hard.

One last thing....a couple days ago, one of the CP's who is already checked into the program posted an e-mail for an audition for current CP's. The audition is specifically for "slender females". "Slender" is such a vague term...I really don't know if I'm consider "slender". But...I REALLY wanted to audition when Disney came to Phoenix but sadly I couldn't make it. I've auditioned with Disney one other time (not for a college program, it was just an open call) and it was SO FUN! So I think that since I'll be in Disney when this audition happens I might as well go for it! A wise man once said: "All of our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them" ;)
My friend Haley and me and a Disney audition!

There's a little recap on the craziness going on in my life in case anybody cares! :) I really should probably start packing soon...but I will probably wait until the last minute. Oh well! Even though I haven't start packing or even thinking about it, I daydream about Disney every minute of every day. It's starting to feel real guys! I can't wait!!!

See ya real soon!
